2023 Renewal Retreat: May 30 - June 4

Following Crescendo International’s 2023 theme of renewal, we will evaluate the need for renewal in ourselves, our culture, our Crescendo hubs, and our churches. How can we, as Christian artists, spark these kinds of renewal in our own communities? Join us as we renew ourselves in Crescendo’s community by supporting one another, challenging one another, and together seeking to follow the Holy Spirit’s leading to further the Kingdom of God in our vocations.

Crescendo Lounge - How to Prepare for an Audition

An audition might be like a door for you as a performing artist. A door to the future, a door that separates you from your dreams, and you might have only a few short minutes to show your talent. How can one get ready for such a stressful situation?

Ellen Rose, former principal violist of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and Kirsten Kemp, a top-level coach for high-risk situations will give key advice based on their vast experience and knowledge in the topic.

Crescendo Lounge - Introduction to the Creative Church Concept

This Crescendo Lounge will give participants a brief experience of a Creative Church service and share more information about how to use this format.

Creative Church is a project of Crescendo International, a ministry among classical and jazz musicians and other artists. The Creative Church concept was borne out of a realization that people in the postmodern world are more interested in a holistic experience of God than mere preaching.

The Arts play an essential role in conveying a message to the heart. Crescendo helps churches have begun to rediscover the power of God-inspired music and art to reach people with the Gospel. Crescendo aims to bring works of art into the church in a variety of musical formats.

Crescendo Lounge - Play & Pray

We look forward to meeting you at the Crescendo Lounge, where we’ll interactively share about Play & Pray. Play & Pray is a creative, spontaneous way to pray with our instruments and voices and other means of artistic expressions like dance or paintings. We invite the Holy Spirit to guide us, while we freely improvise. What to expect: Theological introduction, fun exercises & practical tips that give you a taste of what Play&Pray is and how you can start it in your own city. Please bring your instruments to the online-meeting - yes, improvising over Zoom is actually possible!
